Me on Twitter: "A product was updated to get better."
Jackball on Twitter: "BUT BUT ANOTHER PRODUCT EXISTS AND I PREFER IT. LET ME EXTOLL THE VIRTUES OF THAT PRODUCT."
@jsnell I've been learning about the vices of thread hijacking lately. Conversation on social media is very different from IRL talk, at least I'm telling myself that lately.
@screwjaw Not every article is a shootout between competing products, nor should it be.
@jsnell Agreed. I was reacting more to the rationale behind the second part of the "hypothetical" conversation, as they used the opportunity to promote their standpoint/product over staying on the original topic.
@jsnell I've been guilty of doing the same, and I'm working on not doing it.
@jsnell 😂 I'm often glad I don't have the audience you do.
@jsnell "You forgot __________!"
@jsnell yeah, I think somehow social media instilled the opinion in some people that their viewpoint is the only valid one
@jsnell Jason, I think you'll find a sword will work better than...
Nah. I don't even have the heart.
@jsnell Them: REACHES FOR A BETTER AXE
@jsnell Your axe is not even a Stronginthearm Special. Why are you using a low-quality battle-axe?
@jsnell my axe can sideload apps
@jsnell is the axe named “Tweetbot”?
@jsnell axe? I much prefer a chainsaw... What was that? Don’t let the door hit me on the way out?
@jsnell I believe my first ever interaction with you on Twitter was similar in nature.
Fast forward a few years and now I'm borrowing movies from my library so that I can follow along to your podcast.
@jsnell I got in a LONG discussion with someone on why I choose iPhone. Like, they couldn't wrap their mind around the fact that I don't care about rooting, because Android doesn't have Shortcuts or Things 3
@jsnell I was curious enough to go look at your tweets and discovered there’s a new Overcast. Thanks for the heads up and review.
