Today's Twitter interaction

Me a few days ago: "I asked my HomePod to play a playlist and it played a random shared playlist with almost the same name instead."

Him: "I just tried to play a playlist and it worked. Maybe you should learn to speak more clearly."

Me: <block button>

I tweeted saying, essentially, "consistency is very important" and got a lot of people replying that consistency doesn't really matter.

If people can't count on you they won't. It's that simple. If you think that's okay, I can't help you. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey Fants*. Been a while. I'm mostly just using Twitter a bit less and with most retweets turned off, but it's nice to shout into the void here occasionally too ;-)

* You should read Barsk, it's a good book.

"Just giving you a hard time" says a guy on Twitter. Why, because you think giving people a hard time is fun? It's not. Maybe just don't say anything.

I posted a grammar thread for developers on Twitter. Should I repost here?

Me on Twitter: "Here's a thing that would make the iPad Pro better."

Them: "It's not a problem, Apple has its reasons, I don't care about it, I never noticed it, do you realize you're advocating for the precise thing you said in your tweet."

Great stuff

If anyone has never watched before (or has, & it didn't take). I highly, HIGHLY giving the new series a chance. It still may not be for you, but now is the perfect time to jump in and find out! It feels so different, and you need ZERO context coming in with Jodie Whittaker's Doctor.

@jsnell there’s no comparison. One is a phone and one is a tablet.

I have the iPhone XS and XS Max here along with the Watch Series 4, so if you do have questions that haven't yet been answered by one of the many other reviews or reviewers, go for it

Me: "I like a TV show!"

Me: <reaches for axe>

One that used to happen a lot and doesn't happen that much is writing about the iPhone and getting a bunch of people explaining how they like Android. Dude, I just don't care.

Me on Twitter: "A product was updated to get better."

Not helpful.

The Detectorists on Netflix is a great tonic for, well, lots of things. Recommended.

Detectorists is probably in my top 10 shows of all time. I want to hug it. It is so great.

Tomorrow I run, so there’s still time for you to donate a couple bucks for colorectal cancer research in honor of my mom:

Any amount is appreciated, and everyone who donates will get a race report from me! Oh! Fancy!

I guess the hole in the middle of the circle is where the leaks came out.

It's a bot which I know some people hate, but otherwise I love @accessibleColors, which randomly selects colors with sufficient contrast to meet #accessibility standards.

Did you know color combinations can be measured and result in a number that has to be over a certain threshold to be accessible? I think that's pretty cool.

In an internet of light grey text on white backgrounds, it's nice to see how many, many better options are available. :)

Nice to be reminded that the pitchforks and torches go wherever we humans form communities.

"It is inexplicable how little power the visual effects industry has in Hollywood, while our work remains critical to the success of modern films." Read our interview with ILM compositing supervisor Todd Vaziri.
